Who we are

Matthew Urbanski operates matthewurbanski.com in Colorado, United States. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

Information you provide

Book-waitlist signups collect email, required first name, and optional last name. Urbanski Briefly signups collect email only. Contact forms may collect your name, email address, message, and other information you choose to provide.

If you sign up through a Meta Instant Form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects the information you submit and shares it with Matthew Urbanski. I will manually add your name and email to the website’s FluentCRM contact system for the photobook waitlist and occasional book progress and availability updates. Meta also processes information under its Data Policy. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.

If comments are available and you submit one, WordPress may collect the comment, name, email, website, IP address, and browser information. Comments and a public display name may be visible to others. Do not include sensitive information in public comments or send payment information through contact forms.

Technical information and cookies

Website hosting, security, and analytics tools may process IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, timestamps, and cookies or similar identifiers. WordPress/Jetpack statistics scripts are present on the site. WooCommerce Order Attribution is enabled; its purpose, cookies, and current controls are described below.

SureCookie provides the cookie banner and preference controls. Essential cookies support basic functions; other categories may support functionality, analytics, or marketing when those tools are enabled. Cookie category labels alone do not establish that a particular advertiser is used.

Cookie consent records are enabled. The current configured consent duration is 365 days; that setting is not a retention period for every category of personal information. See Privacy choices for controls.

WooCommerce order attribution

WooCommerce Order Attribution is enabled. It uses first-party cookies to identify the traffic sources and sales channels that bring visitors to this website, so we can understand which channels lead to purchases when sales begin. This is order-source measurement, not advertising-platform retargeting. The website currently provides information and signups and does not accept product orders.

These cookies may contain referral and entry-page URLs, campaign parameters in links (such as UTM source, medium, and campaign), visit timestamps, session page-view counts, and browser/device information. The cookie names are sbjs_session, sbjs_udata, sbjs_first, sbjs_current, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current_add, and sbjs_migrations. WooCommerce documents default lifetimes of 30 minutes for sbjs_session and the browser session for the others; these lifetimes are separate from the retention of any future order records.

Attribution information is stored temporarily in your browser. If you place an order once sales are available, WooCommerce can read it and save it with the order. This feature is not designed to track you across separate browser sessions. If WooCommerce usage-data sharing with Automattic is enabled, statistical attribution information may also be shared with Automattic when an order is placed. See WooCommerce’s Order Attribution documentation for the feature’s data and cookie details.

Order-attribution cookie choices: WooCommerce uses the Marketing Cookies category in the banner for order attribution. These cookies are not essential and are not set before you make a choice. Accept All, or enabling Marketing Cookies and confirming your choices, allows this measurement. Decline, Only Essential, or rejecting Marketing Cookies prevents it. You can reopen Manage cookie preferences to withdraw permission; withdrawing it removes the attribution cookies. Choices apply to the browser and device where you make them. The Marketing Cookies category includes order-source measurement and does not mean that advertising-platform retargeting is enabled.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to inquiries, maintain the subscriptions you choose, send relevant updates, manage consent and unsubscribe requests, operate and protect the website, prevent spam, and understand website use where the relevant tools are enabled.

Book Updates covers occasional book progress and purchase availability. Urbanski Briefly is a selected roundup about every two weeks. The two subscriptions are separate; joining one does not enroll you in the other.

Website and email providers

WordPress.com / Automattic and Jetpack: website hosting and associated security, performance, statistics, contact-form, and backup features, depending on enabled settings. Their processing may include technical visitor information and content submitted through those features. See Automattic’s privacy policy.

Fluent Forms and FluentCRM: WordPress-based form processing and subscriber management. Submitted information and subscription records are maintained through these tools on the website. Installing these plugins does not itself establish that every submission is sent to their developer.

FluentSMTP and Brevo: the selected email-delivery setup. When used to send email, recipient addresses, email content, and delivery-related information are processed by the configured delivery provider. Email opening and link-interaction information may also be processed if those features are enabled. See Brevo’s privacy policy.

SureCookie and WP Consent API: SureCookie manages cookie preferences and consent records through the installed WordPress plugin. WP Consent API connects the saved category choices to compatible features such as WooCommerce Order Attribution.

Akismet / Automattic: submitted comments or form information may be checked for spam where Akismet integration is enabled. If avatars are enabled, an email-derived identifier may be sent to Gravatar. See Automattic’s privacy policy.

Earlier subscriber records may remain in the former Replit waitlist or WordPress/Jetpack subscription system. New WordPress signup placements use Fluent Forms. This policy does not imply that legacy records have been migrated or deleted.

External links and embedded media

Links to social networks, podcast platforms, and other sites lead to services with their own privacy practices. Embedded media, if enabled, may also share browser information or set cookies. Review the relevant service’s policy and the website’s cookie controls.

Disclosure, advertising, and legal requests

Information may be disclosed to providers needed to operate the site and communications, when required by law, to address fraud or security issues, or in connection with a lawful business transition subject to applicable protections.

We do not sell personal information or use advertising-platform retargeting. If this changes, we will update our disclosures and any required notice, consent, or opt-out controls before beginning the new activity. Processing by the service providers described above is separate from selling personal information.

Retention, security, and location

Retention depends on the reason information was collected, whether an inquiry or subscription remains active, and consent, security, or legal needs. Minimal unsubscribe information may be retained so an address is not accidentally subscribed again. Contact us with questions about retained information or to request deletion.

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe using the link provided in subscription emails or contact us for help. Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or opt out of particular processing. Email [email protected] to make a request.

We may need reasonable identity verification and may retain information where legally required. Where applicable, you may also have a right to appeal a decision or contact a data-protection authority. See Privacy choices for request instructions.

Children and updates

Please do not submit personal information about children through the website’s public forms. If you believe a child’s information was submitted, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a revised date. Where required, additional notice or consent will be provided before a material change in processing.
